Julia provides services out of the main office located at 84 Isabella Street in Pembroke. She has been working in a variety of capacities with vulnerable populations, including at-risk children and families, street-involved youth, homeless adults, trauma and abuse survivors, marginalized populations, families involved with Children’s Aid Society, and youth and adults with addictions and mental health diagnoses for nearly two decades.

Julia graduated with a Bachelor of Social Science from the University of Ottawa (conc. Criminology) in 2004. She continued her education and completed a professional certificate in Crisis Management/Human Psychology to competently serve clients experiencing crisis and trauma. Finally, to increase her capacity and work as a mental health professional she obtained a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and is currently a member in good standing with the Ontario Association of Consultants, Counsellors, Psychometrists and Psychotherapists.

Additionally, Julia has completed Collaborative Problem Solving (Tier 1), is a Certified Parenting Coach, with specialized training in attachment, as well as continued education courses in family mediation, the physiological impact of trauma, trauma-informed support services for families and holistic approaches to mental and emotional healing/well-being.

Lisa works out of her private practice office location at 224 Pembroke Street West. She comes to our team with a Master of Social Work from Carleton University and is registered with Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. During her studies, Lisa focused her program on individual, couples and family counselling from an anti-oppressive structural social work perspective. Lisa is strongly committed to staying abreast in her professional skills by continually engaging in professional development opportunities to ensure it is in line with mental health best practices. Her areas of focus include the modalities: Dialectic Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Trauma Informed CBT as well as Grief and Loss counselling, Crisis Prevention and Intervention Counselling and Vocational Rehabilitation Counselling. Lisa is a Registered Rehabilitation Professional that has over eight years of experience working with person living with disabilities. Lisa completed training as a Clinical Traumatologist with the Traumatology Institute Training Centre. She is also trained in Family Mediation and has over five years of experience working with parents to create Parenting Plans and to develop co-parent relationships. In the social service field Lisa has extensive training and working knowledge from offering therapy for individuals with a history of childhood and adult related abuse; as a survivor or witnessing. Lisa takes a special interest in supporting individuals and families of persons living with a Mental Illness such as PTSD or various work/Operational Stress Injuries. She is involved in Renfrew County community organizations and has dedicated over eight years to supporting women who have survived sexual violence. Lisa has been part of the military community as a dependent and spouse for 37+ years and has worked as a clinical Social Worker with Military members and their families.
